Hospital Management Software

Hospital Management Software that covers the Whole Hospital

TechMediz runs patient registration through wards, theatre, diagnostics, pharmacy, stores and accounts on one record — every module, one system.

One patient record, every department

Most hospitals do not start with one system. They start with a billing package, add something for the laboratory, buy a separate pharmacy program, and keep the medical records on paper. Each one works. Together they disagree, and the staff spend their day reconciling them.

TechMedizis a hospital information management system built the other way round. A patient is registered once and given a Unique Patient Identification Number. Every visit, admission, test, prescription and bill afterwards attaches to that number, so there is one version of the patient and one version of the day’s figures.

It is built by Mescope Solutions, an IT services company in Salem, Tamil Nadu, working with hospitals across the state and the rest of India.

What the hospital management system covers

Patient flow. Registration and UHID allocation, doctor-wise out-patient check-in with OP billing and prescriptions, and in-patient management from admission entry through room transfers to an ICD-10 discharge summary.

Clinical. A doctor module carrying patient history, prescription templates and the appointment app; a nurse station for ward availability, pharmacy requests and sample collection; and operation theatre booking with surgeon and anaesthetist mapping.

Diagnostics. Laboratory management from sample collection to released result, and radiology management with report templates, scan status tracking and PDF upload from external scan software.

Operations and finance. Pharmacy sales, multi store and purchase management, medical records with physical file tracking, and an integrated accounts module. These are covered in more depth on the hospital ERP page.

HIMS software in Salem, for hospitals across Tamil Nadu

TechMediz is built in Salem and installed by the people who built it. That is the whole of why a hospital looks forhospital management software in Salem rather than taking the largest name it can find: a hospital whose billing stops at nine in the morning is not waiting on a ticket queue in another state. There are two offices, Salem and Trichy, and the same team handles installation, training and the call afterwards.

For hospitals working towards accreditation, the records and report formats the assessors ask for are covered on the NABH and NABL software page. If you are comparing vendors, the six questions worth asking are set out separately.

Hospital automation software: what is actually automated

The word is worth being specific about, because it is used to mean almost anything. What TechMedizautomates is the handover — a requisition raised on the ward reaching the laboratory, a ward request reducing store stock, a prescription reaching the pharmacy counter, a released result appearing on the doctor’s screen, and all of it landing in the day’s collection without being entered a second time.

Those are the steps where hospitals lose time and where errors are introduced, because each one is a person copying something from one place to another. Removing the copying is the whole benefit, and it is a large one.

Nothing clinical is automated. No diagnosis is suggested, no dose is decided, no result is interpreted. Any vendor telling you otherwise is describing a product that would need a different kind of approval than a hospital information system has.

Every module, one patient record

Four at a time, in the order a patient meets them — registration through wards, theatre and diagnostics to pharmacy, stores and accounts.
